. So the next time you hear a Phillipino claim to be Spanish or "part-Spanish," smile politely, nod and cringe silently. Are you sure that 'Phillipino' guy was your friend? Btw what is a 'Phillipino'?

kampilan, you and I both know that Flips feel proud to say they are part Spanish or that they have a Mestiza parent or Grandparent. Even having a chino relative is something to brag about.

I've had quite a bit of experience with Pinays (Filipinas) and I have noticed a high percentage will say they have Spanish blood which I have always treated with skepticism. I have also noted that they dont readily claim to have American blood even though they were also occupied by the USA, although for a much shorter time. There must also be some 1st class Anglo Saxon blood in some of them from the British occupation of Manila. It may of only been for 2 years but the appetite for LBFM's (little brown f*cking machines) among the British is pretty high

Well, I have seen Filipinos that are more European looking than those pictures. Some of the sure has admixture, whether Spanish or not. My aunt, for example, has no epicanthal fold that I've noticed, and round eyes. She doesn't look like she has any "Australoid" admixture in any significant amount, and she does look a little like a mestizo, actually - a little.

You are not Filipino are you? You are very ignorant about Filipinos and you even use words that Filipinos dont use. If you are Filipino then you must have been born overseas and grew up there, possibly the US? But even then you can't possibly be this ignorant about your culture because you can just ask your family memebers about these things. And a Filipino would not let others insult them and then agree. The insult I am referring to is not what others here would assume and I have a hunch that you would not know it either. If you are Filipino you should know.

I am assuming you are british hence your use of the derogatory LBFM moniker. Did you also know that they call chinese LYCR? However I don't see why you would bring up such crude things to these topic knowing that there is a Pinay (if she is one) here, but to impugn their morality and character. You also do not see that this reflects on your character and tells us what kind of person you are. I am sure that this was not your intention and it was a slip o' the tongue so we'' can chalk it up to talk among blokes eh

Filipinos are australoid, at leat our ancestors were, this is what is taught in universities. This is not in a racial sense that you obviously mean. Filipinos do not have epicanthal fold or small eyes whatsoever. If they did they would be called chinito or chinita or just chinese if they are pure. Filipinos, Malays and Indonesians do nt see themselves as being the same as or related to chinese, indians, mexicans or arabs in a racial sense. We are our own 'race'.

She does not look mestiza in the photos you posted actually. She looked mestiza when she was younger. I can tell that what central and south americans refer to as mestiza varies somewhat from the way Filipinos use it. I understand that there is also variation between those countires too.

I am sure that this was not your intention and it was a slip o' the tongue so we'' can chalk it up to talk among blokes eh It certainly wasn't my intention to "impugn" the "morality and character" of Pinays, although I have 1st hand experience of some extremely bad morality and character from a Pinay I put this all down to the individual involved and I hold Pinays as a whole in quite high esteem. The fact is that Pinays and other South East Asian women are sometimes called LBFM's in the West, although rarely in Great Britain and far more commonly in Australia/New Zealand and the USA I think. I'm sure there are a few not so flattering terms for Western Men in Tagalog and personally I'd like to hear them, the only thing I can remember my Pinay ex calling me was "puta ina mo" or something like that BTW, I've never heard of LYCR before, I've been trying to guess what it stands for and I'm fairly certain the 'LY' must be 'little yellow' as for the 'R' I'm thinking maybe 'receiver' but for the 'C' I'm stuck between 2 words. Whatever it is it sounds more imaginative than the 'foreign devil' we sometimes get called by the Chinese.

The common belief by Filipinos is that they are all part Spanish..... Care to back this assertion with evidence? Because last time I checked that is not true and I should know . Which sould make you a liar. It's likely true. They just don't have signifigant blood.

Some of them do have at least a little epicanthus, even if it's much less developed than more northwestern asian people. Just because the eyes are rounder, doesn't mean they're completely without epicanthus: And I don't believe that the majority of filipinos are australoid, even if they're part australoid. To me, they look exactly like a Chinese/Melanesian mix, nothing else, except some are truly a fairly recent european/filipino mix, even if it's a small minority.
