The people on the picture are originally from Turkey, but not Turks. Members of the same group live in Lebanon.

Assyrians or whatever you preferr to call them - the people in the picture are Syrian-Orthodox inhabitants of Turabdin in SE Turkey. Semitic language close to Arabic. Similar groups live in Lebanon and (less) in Syria. I have worked in an area where thousands of them live, and they represent an interesting Mideastern type, perhaps Armenoid based but with thinner features of Med or Dinarid origins. Not wholly similar to their Turkish, Kurd or Armenian neighbours but on the whole they fit in much more in the northern "highland" Mideast group than among the Arabs to the south.

The only Assyrian I've ever seen is this guy everyone calls raghead. Bluffs every single hand at poker. Plays Madden 06 using the same play over and over. Weird guy. Very Armenoid.

You can see a lot of pictures on this homepage from Germany. The average is far too dark to fit as Greeks.
