The brother of my girlfriend is a finn that looks baltic(golden blond,blue eyed) and people when they see black and white pictures of mine say that i somehow resemble him. I can see similarities between myself and the latvian but I'm brunet(hair and eyes) and quite greek looking so calling me alpine/up/nordic mix is too much i think.Predominantly nordic affiliation??.I ll remeasure(my current measures are probably accurate though-even in case of error i possibly fall again in the alpinoid region).Any remarks?

Praetor, you should think of the results as measuring your similarity based on the variables entered, not the overall similarity. Based on on them you are similar to the guy in question - assuming you measured right -. The variables in question don't have the power to discriminate between e.g., Northern and Southern Europeans, hence the weird results. They just give a rough idea about the shape and size of your head.

If head height was given for Coon's individuals (it isn't) then your low head would differentiate you somewhat (perhaps) from Baltics and of course so does pigmentation. There are many variables that would do that, e.g., degree of facial flatness, etc. The results are a first order approximation that basically says you have a general lateral (Alpinoid) tendency.

Thanks for replying.I didn't want to question the usage of your calculator,it is just that the result was a bit surprising.If we leave aside Coon's remarks about the latvian,there seem to be skeletal similarities between him and me (mouth and chin identically actually) and with other of his alpinid/balkan "borreby" types

No problem, I appreciate unusual results because these point out the fact that metric similarity does not imply racial similarity.

The cranial capacity estimation should be more accurate now. Try it again to get a better estimate. My personal estimate is 1,604 cc.

Well, people who know me says that I resemble an Iranian or an Afghan. I'm a northern italian, from an old piedmontese family, but instead of alpine or alpine-dinaric features (prevalent in that region), I have mostly mediteranean-dinaric ones: tall (1,90 m), slim, dolicocephalic (apparent also in the phenotype, but I'm surprised to be IPER-dolicocephalic!), with brown hairs and eyes, and a strong and incisive facial profile. My father is a typical dinaric, and my mother a mediterranean. I'm puzzled about the apparent genetic dominance of dolicocephaly, since my whife is mesocephalic and my sons very dolicocephalic like me.

Hey guys, i've just conducted the racial analysis calculator test and the results can be viewed at the following link:

It seems that all three estimates are uninanimous in concluding that i am Proto-Europoid, although the link to the individual most like myself is down .

Dienekes Pontikos do the parameters measured and the results obtained seem within reasonable limits?
