Nope, I don’t live in Germany nor in Turkey anymore. I used to live in Maryland, which was good, but now I am in the worst place of all…North Carolina! You know, we got tobaccar in here, and people spit, and farms and crap. Alright, alright, it isn’t that bad. However, this place is NOTHING like the North. I have seen so many trees since I was 4 years old, even in Germany…I miss concrete buildings of the cities! ;D Oh well, thank gods you don't live in Wisconsin I dunno, NC sounds pretty bad compared to Germany or Turkey. Sounds..rural I don't have any blood relation to him, we're relatives by marriage. My grandfather's aunt had married that family back in.. I dunno, probably 1910 or something. The guy I'm talking about is Sokolovic, later named Sokollu. They're still using the same name. I think they only got the vakif because he was relatively an important guy. We didn't got nothing but my ancestor was just some local person, nothing big Oh, please! No, it means "duchess" in Serbo-Croat. Think "vojvoda" I can't stand Mexican cuisine myself, it's not a matter of preference but my stomach just doesn't agree with the stuff. I love Chinese though it gets rather ruitine after eating Chow-Fun everyday Oh, and dumplings, of course.

Yeah, you are right…there could have been much worse places like Wisconsin. And yup, NC is indeed bad compared to Germany or Turkey. It is also sadly very rural, bad for a city kid like me. Whoa, wait a minute. Is this Sokollu anyway related to the 1500’s Vizer Sokollu Pasha ? He was a Slav from Bosnia, and he had served in the Serbian Church. He was also later appointed by Suleiman after Ibrahim Pasha. If he is related to this Sokollu, he is a big part in Ottoman-Turkish history! You betcha Sokollu Pasha was an important man during Suleiman’s reign and also Selim II. Whops, I guess you didn’t mean the model ;D. Hehe, and I really can’t think “vojvoda”, do you mean “vodka” in any way? ;D ;D Bulgarian Vodka, ahh, I miss that strong stuff! ;D Your stomach cannot take illegal alien food ehh? Hehe, that was mean, sorry ‘bout that hehe. ;D Egg drop soup is the bomb in Chinese restaurants, dumplings also…but all this stuff gets old here in NC…

That's his relative (cousin) that served in the church actually, Makarije Sokolovic. He was the patriarch, I think. My cousin could get into more detail, no doubt. Well, that's why they've managed to keep all that stuff! I've no blood relation, like I said. But our family was marrying to people of common ancestry. Like, my Bulgarian part of the family married to Yugos, most of the time. Come ON! You don't know what vojvoda is? Kazikli Voyvoda? Vlad Tepes? Better known as... DRACULA? That's some common title in the balkans, vojvoda means duke. Naah, I think it's the beans they put in everything. They give me hours of horrible tummy ache.

Oh my god, d*mn, you are soo lucky ! I wish I could say I was related to Sokollu, or other Vizers such as the Koprulu Family! I read many things about Sokollu, especially from Lords Kinross’ book, The Ottoman Centuries, and I was very impressed by him trying to advance the Ottoman Empire during the reign of Selim II. Bahh, who cares about blood. Interesting though, my family usually married whoever they fell in love first I assume. ;D ;D ####, I feel so ashamed . As a reader of history, I did not know this. I feel as if I have been speared in the battlefield! ;D Hey heyy, I’m not 100% Balkan, only 75% - I got an excuse. What was that American saying again…it went along the lines of, Beans, beans, they’re good for your heart, the more you eat the more you fart? I learned that during early Middle-School (Shows by the level of immaturity of the joke ehh). ;D

Yeah, he was a great guy. He invested great deal in his homeland as well. Most Serbians and ex-Yugos respect him a lot. The Koprulu family were ethnically Turkish on the other hand, and they were gotten rid of because they were feared to take up too much power. Anyway, I'm glad we're "related" of course but he really is not my relative. But okay, I'll claim him if you want me to ;D So? Me too, as the Abkhazians are not from the Balkan mountains. They're on the other side of the orogenesis, the Caucasus That's my 25%. Wow. The joys of getting off topic. Waaay off topic

There is something with Turks and too much power! ;D Damn, you stole Sokollu from me ? Now I have to dig up his grave and bury him near my house to claim him ;D. Hehe, Friday night off-topic random talks man. ;D But People there were white as well, so were most people in the Balkans, so I cannot consider that as your 25% ;D! I can mine though, I am an Anatolian child, a little dark with a big black moustache! Heheh ;D Friday night, all tired up from school, exams next week…I’m trying to enjoy every ounce of freedom I can before I continue to study tomorrow hehe… ;D
