700,000-year-old flint artifacts discovered in England By Thomas Wagner, Associated Press LONDON — Ancient tools found in Britain show that humans lived in northern Europe 200,000 years earlier than was previously known, at a time when England's climate was warm enough to be the home of lions, elephants and saber-tooth tigers, scientists announced Wednesday. The 32 black flint artifacts, found in river sediments in Pakefield in eastern England, date back 700,000 years and represent the earliest unequivocal evidence for human presence north of the Alps, the scientists said. The finding dashes the long-held theory that humans did not migrate north from the relatively warm climates of the Mediterranean region until half a million years ago, the scientists said. presstelegram.com/search/ci_3309325

Makes sense especially if England was so warm. They found human remains in Georgia (Caucasus) over a million years old, also moving the date back for that "Out of Africa" migration. Of course, these hominids-- being Homo Erectus were definitely not any of today's non-African humans' ancestors, as ours left Africa much, much later.

Do you mean homo sapiens sapiens, or just homo?

No, it's basically been proven that homo sapiens originated in East Africa. Are you refering to old ideas that different types of homo sapiens started up on different continents?

Nothing has been proven regarding the origins of man. There are different hypothesis of the evolution of man and the origins of man.

non-homo sapien wild cave men were running around in Europe 700,000 years ago big deal. The evidence points to an African origin for all humans, especially the DNA evidence. This thread is a joke.

well, first you write this: And then you write that: Nothing has been proven regarding the origins of man. There are different hypothesis of the evolution of man and the origins of man.

If it's not too much trouble, could you post links to articles or studies that explain this "DNA" evidence?

If you can't See that you contradict yourself, then I've got nothing else to add.

The oldest modern human, dated back to 200,000 years ago, was found in Africa, not in the Ice Age caves of Europe as wild cavemen.
