Was it right about the time of supposed Jewish slavery? I had heard that Jewish people might have adopted monothiesm from Egyptians. Just curious about this, too.

Actually the Egyptians did have monotheism during the Amarna period when Aknaten was Pharoah. The one God then was Aten. The belief died out after Aknaten's death and the pantheon headed by Amun Re was reintroduced. Tutankhamun was originally Tutankhaten and some symbols of the Aten religion are shown on some of his furniture from his tomb.
