The gay marriage issue strikes me as one that deflects attention from the real issues: economic downturn, lack of a living wage for many workers, war, etc. Not being gay myself, I don't pay much attention to or care about what gay people do. I care more about seeing President Bush not being re-elected I agree! His whole 'gay marriage amendment' is nothing but a stunt to get him elected again (so voters will be distracted from what he's actually done in office and vote for him again.)

I agree with Satyros. When a society starts discussing the supposed “right” of two men or two women of getting married then something’s wrong. Does anyone know of a language in which calling a straight guy gay or one of its derivations (fag, finocchio, maricón etc) isn’t offensive?
