Maybe it's the beginning of the absorption of immigrant populations. It happened before with the French Huguenots who made up 10% of England's population-- so many arrived. Where are they all now? However, they were also European so the distance wasn't so big as far as blending in.

You will have to get a feathered headress and learn the handshake, of course.  Further reading says I'd need a small & unpleasant operation.  I thinkI'll stick with pork.

I know that during the 1800's, the English were considered as the most bigoted of all Europeans. I guess now they're tryin' to change their image.
