These are examples blacks doing what the majority of us do, positive things to uplift ourselves. Stories like these contrast with stories about drug dealing and criminality which is *NOT* what most black people are into. Sure. If thats what the majority do, why do those few specifically have articles written about them? The statistics of the black community with regard too: GDP of black families, gross hygiene irregularities i.e., HIV rate; diabetes, etc, plus a slew of other social inequalities, paint a much different picture than what you're claiming. Thats stuff affects a minority of our people but the majority don't have those problems, the picture isn't all dire as people claim and portray it. The success stories are the majority that no one eants to see because people are too pre-occupied with the negative.

Corporations looking to earn more money may want to tap into minority markets in the United States. Figures show whites still make and spend far more than Asians, Hispanics, and blacks in the United States. But a new study shows African-American buying power is growing rapidly. Paul Mixon is in a sort of uncharted waters. He’s an African-American businessman, catering to minorities who want to get involved in sailing, generally an affluent recreation. He's producing a "black boaters summit" next year in the British Virgin Islands. "I think as more people get out on a boat in this kind of weather under these conditions, people will gravitate to the sport," Mixon says. He's also bouyed by a new economic study from the University of Georgia, that shows African-American buying power is growing exponentially. One example, Prince George's County, Indiana, has the highest per-capita income for African-Americans in the nation, according to the Census Bureau. Magic Johnson is among those tapping into the $723 billion in buying power blacks wield, according to the study. Johnson is opening one of his signature movie complexes in Prince George’s County. "I knew that we always had been the biggest consumers," Johnson says. "We've always spent money, we just never had enough of us owning businesses in our own communities. " From 1990 to the year 2009 the multicultural economy study by the University of Georgia shows African-American buying power is expected to grow 203-percent from $318 billion to $965 billion. "I'm telling all the corporations out there, the growth of your companies is in minorities," Johnson says. By the end of this decade the report indicates spending power of blacks in the U.S. could rival the gross domestic product of Canada. www.wqad.com/Global/story.asp?S=2454555&nav=7k8pOqsp

"Last year, 85 percent of adults age 25 and over had completed at least high school, an all-time high, the U.S. Census Bureau reported today. Also in 2003, 27 percent of adults age 25 and over had a college degree, another record. The percentage of non-Hispanic whites (89 percent) and blacks (80 percent) who had a high school diploma or higher marked new highs. The proportion of blacks rose by 10 percentage points from 1993 to 2003, while non-Hispanic whites saw an increase of 5 percentage points in this category."www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/releases/archives/education/001863.html

Those Arabs or Janjaweed are just as dark as an average Afro American (if not darker).

Aren't most of the Arabian-descended people in the Sudan mixed with the blacks anyway?

I don't really understand the sarcasm. There is a population of sudanese that are caucasoid in character and they tend to be the present day slave traders of negro slaves from the southern part of that country, right?

All those people in those pictures are negroes from what I can see.
So are you saying there are no caucasoids in Sudan?

There are pure Arabid people, or people with predominate Arab admixture, however they are a small minority. (in the hundred thousands) They are definitely not negroid, but even their population is dwindling seeing that many headed back home to their motherland Saudi Arabia in 1970s after the oil boom
