How retarded. I've always wondered what it would be like to be a WASP..having no history and all. I could only imagine myself as belonging to one of the numerous Mediterranean nationalities with a rich history.

Nah, I would never go so far as to say WASPs have no history. In fact, they have an amazing history.
After all, if it weren't for the WASPs, you wouldn't be speaking English on this messageboard right now, you know.
It's people like this Lightning Rod band that make WASPs look like a bunch of insecure hicks and rednecks.

How retarded. I've always wondered what it would be like to be a WASP..having no history and all. I could only imagine myself as belonging to one of the numerous Mediterranean nationalities with a rich history. Frankly, the fact that my country has very short written history - it only goes back some 800 years - doesn't bother me that much. After all, my country has done well during her short history, and I'm now living in a safe, clean, and democratic country, where even the poorest of the poor get a free basic health care and free quality education up until they are 18. Whic, I'm happy to say, seems to function as some kind of an antidote against the idiotism showed by the above lyrics. |

Damn straight, Ilmatar. I've never understood why a people's history should matter so much it becomes a pissing contest. How many thousands of years of documented history do the Iranic people have? How does that affect my everyday life? Not in a single way.  I am like most people are and have always been - I live here and now, not in some glorious past or race-mixed future where everyone's suppose to be brown.  |
