And please, describe what exactly is your "ethnic" (For example, AA don't have an ethnic, they identify by their race).

EDIT: I forgot to answer the question myself! I do have friends outside my ethnicity and my race.

Of course I do, considering I'm an American and we are of no one ethnicity, coming from a wide variety of places.

I'm of Greek and Germanic descent, with a Cherokee ancestor. I consider myself a white American. Don't know if that's an ethnicity.

White Americans are very diverse as we come from all over Europe, both Northern and Southern.

I am a black American, and yes I do have friends outside of my race/ethnicity, at my school if you are black and you only have black friends, you have very few friends. I have one close black friend at my school, but she is of a completely different background and culture (Nigerian). My closest circle of friends (excluding her) consists of two Asians (one of which my Nigerian friend is dating), two whites, and a Chicano. At my school it is very common to have friends outside of race and interracial dating is very common as well. There are also lots of interracial individuals (most common being half-Jewish/half-something else, commonly WASP, black or Asian).

In Argentina you are wither white or mestizo, and I have mestizo friends but I never really considered them anything else but argentines.

No, I don't, because my face shows no Amerind influence. Genetically, I guess I could be called a mutt. But I wouldn't look out of place anywhere in Europe, except perhaps Sweden or the Baltic areas as I am quite brunet.

In my neighborhood, 90% of my friends are Somalis, some actually are more relatives than anything or my brother's friends (I got six brothers). I pretty much have had the same "clique" since I was 7 or 8. Not purposely or whatever, mainly because our secondary school was pretty segregated and alot of the Black students of Jamaican background as well as Punjabi kids stuck to themselves and had something against us

In my college town its a bit different, my roomates are 3 White Canadians (2 Anglo's I think, and 1 naturalized Dutch) and 1 Iranian guy. My friends are pretty white, I got a couple of Arab friends and some Chinese

Mah best friend on da planet is Vietnamese...I don't have a lot of very close friends, most of them are white (xcept for one that's half Puerto Rican), but I have friendly acquaintance status with blacks, Indians, Latinos...and of course, being American this is quite the average. As long as you've got a good personality, you're cool.

I find it interesting to read, quite often, "half-Jewish". Excuse my crass ignorance, but since when is Judaism a race? Perhaps this is a typically American phenomenon, to claim a partly Jewish ancestry in a genetic perspective. In France, setting aside the Loubavitch and other orthodox tendencies (a minority), a person will tell you about his/her jewishness if he/she wants to talk about religion.

Jews tend to be a mixture of races and they are considered by many to be an ethnic group as well as a religion.

Yes, they are ethnically Jewish and identify as such. Mostly all of them are secularists and don't subscribe to Judaism. Many of them are proud of their ancestry and don't talk about or see it in a religious context.

I wasn't aware that this was a typically "American" phenomenon. Are they not individuals in Europe that identify themselves as ethnic Jews?

Finland is a very homogenic society ethnically speaking, so I haven't had that many possibilities to befriend people outside my ethnicity here. However, I've befriended with people from all around the World while staying abroad. Some of my best friends are Italian, and I also have a very good Brazilian and Czech friend.
