A while ago I was at a party my friend was throwing and I saw a (white)woman that I found very attractive and being that confident guy that I am(or at least I was),I introduced myself to her and we started to talk and I finally worked up the nerve to ask her for her number. She flat-out said she wasn't interested. Her exact words were that, "I only do white". Then she walked away. I have to admit it cut me pretty deep. ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) I had never been rejected by a woman because of my race. Other reasons, sure. But not my race. After thinking about it for a long time, I really don't think it's racist to be attracted to a certain race. I've heard of things like genophilia. Whichmeans that If youre white youre more inclined to be attracted to another white person. I know white nationalist and nordicists consider most non-whites to be "Aesthetically Disgusting" but they're biased and arent willing to listen to anything other than their own opinions.

Mutt,
This is an easy one. You can be attracted to whatever woman attracts you without having to worry about being wrong. But the woman you speak of was just plain rude. She had a lousy upbringing. Sounds like she was raised by wolves. In fact, the female offspring of wolves are known as bitches. You lucked out in finding out straight away. Better luck next time. Give my regards to Jeff (skip it--lame joke).

There are many reasons why women reject men. It doesn´t sound that bad to me. The worst one by far is when they tell you they just want to be friends! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

It would've hurt a lot less if she told she said she just wanted to be friends:(. Anyway its no big deal and I'm over it, ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I know that many women are particular about the kind of person they date. by the way- thanks Ghost ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Mutt, Don't worry about it man. As Ghost said, that girl was a snobby bitch. I think many people are more attracted to their own ethnicity or race just because they might feel more comfortable with people who are more similar to themselves, but of course that doesn't mean that they should explicitly shut somebody down in a manner that this girl did to you just because she prefers not to engage in interracial dating. I think anyone should have the right to date whoever they want and if they prefer not to date outside of their race, I don't think such people should be branded as racist. However, if it goes beyond a simple dating/marriage preference (racial epithets, active discrimination, harming others who choose to date interacially, etc.), that's obviously when it becomes racist and wrong. This girl sounds like she was raised in a barn. Also, getting back to being attracted to either your own race or another, I think we can all acknowledge (except for white nationalists and others) that there are plenty of beautiful people in all races. Some people are attracted to someone who they think looks "exotic" whereas others are attracted to people who have familiar faces and looks to themselves. I personally see many beautiful girls of all ethnicities walking around campus everyday ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) , and in my case I would personally probably stick to dating white girls just because I guess I'm conservative in that sense (sorry if that sounds a bit close-minded), but I suppose the same could be said of anyone else and I don't think it's racist. For example, If a black guy wants to date only black women, that's not wrong, nor is it wrong if he likes white women.

You're right I don't consider someone to be racist if they date within their own race at all. It's not being close-minded or conservative. It's just a preference. Just as if someone prefers dating outside their race. Everyone has a "type" their attracted to.

Mutt, there are plenty of classy women out there. Besides, I have learned that character matters far more than race and that girl showed absolutely no class or character. I am a 'black' American and I have a preference for dark haired guys, regardless of race or ethnicity. Does it mean that I have a problem with blonds or redheads? No, that is my preference. It is one thing not to date outside your race or ethnicity because that is who you are attracted to. It is another thing to do what that girl did to you, as well as all of the things buddyrydell said.

There exists a theory that most men go after and eventually end up settling down with women who remind them of their own mothers, and hence there is a tendency towards marriage with women of similar ethnic origin.

My mother is from Belize and my dad is from Honduras and they've always been pretty vague about their race. I ask them all the time about it but they seem ashamed of what they are. But its understandable considering that they both grew up in a very racist areas. But from the very short conversations I've had with my mother. I am part black, east indian, and mestizo. Most people assume I'm spanish because I have very ambiguous spanish features.
I'll post a picture as soon as I get a digital camera.

What kind of racism did they face there? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) By "Spanish" you must mean "Hispanic". In that part of the world there is some tension between the Spanish-speaking mestizos/indians and the mostly English-speaking blacks.

So the lighter your skin was the more important you were. They equated being white with being beautiful. My mistake, thanks for correcting me. I did mean "hisp- anic" or "latino". It's common in the states to call some- one "spanish" when thats not at all what they are.
