Mimidamoon: "Look at all the racism and hate crime in America, neo-nazis, KKK and all that...seems like it is creating much sufferering amongst the minority women and children in the states."
Oh, please... KKK members and neo- nazis are not common in the USA. There are actually more crimes committed against whites by blacks then the other way around. But you don't hear about in the media although the statistics show it (Although, it's funny how Latinos are grouped with whites on the FBI crime statistics when the Latino is the aggressor but the Latino is made separate when he's the victim.) Whenever a crime that appears racially motivated (of course, only when the white is the aggressor) it gets played up by the media like crazy. When it's a white victim the crime is never attributed to black racism.

I don't want to see anyone destroyed. We spend so much time creating "enemies" in our minds among people we actually have quite a lot in common with. People are always searching for an enemy to contrast and define themselves against. This board should be a good example of how we have unfounded stereotypes about others and the potential for deeper understanding that can lead to transformation rather than destruction.
