The Black Holocaust is one of the more underreported events in the annals of human history. The Black Holocaust makes reference to the millions of African lives which have been lost during the centuries to slavery, colonization and oppression. The Black Holocaust makes reference to the horrors endured by millions of men, women, and children throughout the African Diaspora. In sheer numbers, depth and brutality, it is a testimony to the worst elements of human behavior and the strongest elements of survival. www.geocities.com/CollegePark/Classroom/9912/blackholocaust.htmlYet no monuments have been made and apologies have been few. Worse still, most of the descendants of those who suffered, struggled and died, are unaware of this Holocaust while others seek to ignore it. One can only imagine the terrible damage placed upon the psyche of a people who seek to ignore or forget the tragedies of their past. The next few pages will give but a cursory glance at this Holocaust. As you read remember that it is more than simply numbers and facts. It is a memorial to those who could not live to tell their tale. It is a tribute to those who struggled and died so that others may live. It is a reminder to the descendants of the survivors who have now forgotten or do not know. In this manner we can honor those who have gone before us and perhaps take a step towards real healing and understanding.

LOL The site is unavailable. I do know that during King Leopold II's tenure, some 1,000,000 Africans in the Belgian Congo died due to the administration of the 'Congo Free State' around 1892-1898. The atrocities that occurred there were an inspiration for Conrad's novel 'Heart of Darkness.' Many leading Western Liberals took up the Congolese plight, but it fell on deaf ears. Many are trying to have those deaths considered a 'genocide.'

That's a comical claim. Any black American who is not aware of the European slave trade must have been deprived of any social interaction (in other words, they must have been raised in a closet). What isn't well known is the Arab slave trade.
Also, using the word Holocaust is incorrect. A slave trader doesn't want to wipe out his source of money. And a slave master doesn't want to wipe out his labor. A corpse is far from productive, unless you want to grow some plants in yoru yard.
