Very interesting and convincing analysis I abandoned any beleif in the historicity of the book of invasions long ago, though the portions concerning the tuatha de Danaan probably contain quite a bit of actuall tradtional celtic myth. The milesian legends allways seemed tacked on to me. Mike the best analysis I have seen indicate that there was never any direct migration between spain and ireland(the hypothesis that celto-iberian or lusitanian were closely related to Goidelic is based on fautly linguistic analysis). There is some evidence of cultural trade connection especiall in the south west of ireland during the iron age. Most migrations into ireland actually seem to have come through southern scotland. The La-tene material culture is an expample as it appears in the north first slightly after it appears in northern europe though even then its questionable whether ireland ever shared a true la-tene material culture. Right! And if there was colonization, it was probably in the other direction, from the North. We should expect more from Celtic archaeology in Iberia if the situation was as is commonly thought.
