Compared to things Zhirinovsky has said in the past, this mockery of Condoleeza Rice is pretty tame.

President Bush isn't a middle aged African American women with no relationship. She's cold. They merely proposed it's because of that. Can you think of any other reason a woman would be so pompous and impudent with regard to diplomacy in a country of Russia's stature? Its because when women involve themselves with politics they have to grow balls tiwce as large as their male adversaries to compete...what you refer to as cold, I call calculated. Thatcher knew this prior, hence the "Iron lady" tag and the fact that it was the same Soviet media to have first come up with it. It seems like Russians get awkward around strong willed, aggressive women. I dislike Condoleeza too, just as much as you if not more but keep in mind the company she keeps (war mongering right wing neo-cons) What sort of stance or message would you think she will give to the Russians? and like Anodyne said, Zhirinovsky's comments just proves he's got smaller balls than Condoleeza I don't know what you're talking about. They don't "Have" to do anything. Nor does her demeanor have anything to do with calculation. The whole point of the story is that her behaviour is NOT calculated, rather a basket case that's detatched from reality. Thatcher was hostile to communism. Rice is hostile to Russia.

The point is: If it had been President Bush to make this statement, would the genious journalist here written a column stating that he obviously haven't been getting anything lately... That would require the assumption that women are same as men in all respects. I don't think they make that assumption in Russia. Also, Bush got a wife, so it'd be harder for them to make that case. The point is that if it had been a male to say what Ms. Rice said nobody would have brought up his maritial status. Men and woman obviously aren't the same in all the respects, but I don't see why women operating in poltics couldn't and shouldn't be treated in the same way. We can deal with it. But obviously Russians need to be informed...
