The oldest gravesight from Colonial America that is non-Native American is New York City's "African Burial Ground". Thousands of Africans enslaved
in NYC from the days when this was the Dutch colony of "New Amsterdam" were buried in our earliest days. The burials continued into the time we became the British colony of "New York". The archaeologists
have found in these graves many African artifacts including materials from the Hausa, Tuareg amulets, Congolese and Angolan ritual objects,
the Sankofa symbol from the Akan and objects from all over West and Southern Africa. There are other gravesites of enslaved Africans that are being dug and analyzed for artifacts and DNA! The complaint that
many have had is that the vast majority of the researchers on these ancestral graves are not of African descent.
The DNA analysis of African Americans is finding that on average 60% are from the Western tip. 30% are from West-Central Africa and 10% from southern Africa. The British, Irish, Scotish and German American slaveowners
very accurate records of where the slaveships came from and where they were supposed to go. The Western tip of Africa[Senegal to Liberia] is
physically closest to the US and the trip is the shortest. Brazil took in people from more southern and central Africa. Hence, their religions of Candomble' and Umbanda reflect that. The Capoiera martial arts dance is from Angola. Jamaica, is similar to the USA ethnically, but they are more Akan. The Obeah religion
and Pocomania and patois dialect show that.
Cuba, was dominated by the Yoruba of SW Nigeria. The Lukumi brotherhoods together with those of the Efik layed the basis for Santeria and the worship of the orishas.
Next door in Haiti and the Dominican Republic and
also in the USA's Louisiana, the Yoruba influenced
religion of the Fon/Dahomean people brought

The Latins prefered the shorter people from Nigeria to Brazil. These experts in iron and people known for more decorum. So, in the Hispanic world they think patronizingly to the the "negrito" i.e. little Black man. They did not fear "el negro" south of the border as much as in North America.
The Americans wanted the big Black man to do the backbreaking labor along the East Coast, to plant rice and clear swamps. They took the tribes related to the Mande-speaking people who were forged in centuries of WAR. So, as the tests are confirming we are largely Mandingoes, Wolof, Tukulor, Temne etc. The Mandingoes were very very war-like in their campaigns

The slaveraiding Fula/Peul in their quest to take over the
territories of the former Songhay and Mali and Djolof empires and create another feudal empire enslaved the Mandingoes, Wolof and they themselves got caught up in the mess.
So, Charlie is not too wrong in posting many Fula pics. The Fula and Mande had a symbiotic relationship and all these tribes are related physically anyway.
