Looks like half the board has similar problems with their hair I do. But I actually know very few people who find their hair easy to manage.
I have a 16-years-old cousin who has the same kind of hair murphee has, fair and curly, only that her hair is natural platinum abd golden blonde. Both her parents have blond, curly hair too, but wear them short. Everybody has been telling my cousin how beautiful her hair is since she was a toddler. However, she was desperate with her hair, and eventually grew dreadlocks.

My husband has curly hair and he hates it. Doesn't want to be called goldy locks so he keeps it short and prefers to shave it all off 2-3 times every year.

Yep. The solution is to grow all of our hair very long!!! I am growing mine out now. I really need to cut out the flat ironing of it b/c the heat is very stressing and I have to keep my ends trimmed so it is counterproductive to my growth.

Yes, growing it long enhances the natural beauty of curly hair. Don't color, heat-press, process, blow-dry. Comb only when wet, and do it carefully so as not to rip out hair. Trim frazzled ends. Your hair will be healthier, easier to manage, and it will be faster to grow long. Vitamins, minerals and a healthy diet help also. Picture of tiny portion of my hair: it is very thick. It would dreadlock easily. I have never done that. The problem with dreadlocks is once a person doesn't want them anymore, the hair has to be cut short.

Thank you. As the years pass, it is slowly getting more grey, and I think that even enhances its beauty. So many older people dye their hair and I think it doesn't look good; I prefer to see the silver strands mixed in.
