I'm eagerly awaiting a movie about Elvis starring Samuel L. Jackson as the King himself. Just curious annunaki; If you was born in a subsaharan country, say Burkina, and was raised there would you marry a black man and mother his chlidren!?.

I'm eagerly awaiting a movie about Elvis starring Samuel L. Jackson as the King himself. The funny thing is I would actually pay money to see that LOL. They say he was choosen by producers who looked for a white man who could sing as a black. This issue would be somewhat hard to treat in a.m. film

this is getting silly!!!
Hollywood is promoting both Nordicism and Afrocentrism. This is a shame. Even old Hollywood movies are much more accurate. It seems we live in a degenarating society. Yet, we are supposed to think that people today are more tolerant towards eachother.
Lies and sharade!

I really wish Hollywood would strive for realism instead of appealing to the lowest common denominator because they can get away with it.
Would blacks like it if they chose a half-black, half-Samoan like the Rock to play Mansa Musa instead of a real black West African-descended person?
Denzel should be playing Mansa Musa of Mali, not Hannibal of Carthage. And if she must be cast as an Egyptian, Halle Berry should be Queen Tiye, not Nefertiti. Realism goes a long way. It really does.

Hopefully though, when the SCA finishes reconstructing all the mummies and after the King Tut reconstruction tour goes around the US and after PC propagandists like PBS stop spreading lies and if National Geographic continues to use realistic-looking Egyptians to cast as the AEs, Afrocentrism will have breathed its last breath.

Lol halle berry is a black woman with overtly caucosoid features, is'nt that good enough for ol alexandrian? Anyways, nubians frequently setteled and intermarried in egypt, they were recruited in large numbers to serve as mercenaries and archers in the pharoahs army, egypt, especially upper egpyt was a melting pot alexandrian, get over it, stop trying it as a homogenous Japan of the ancient world.

Halle Berry may have Caucasian features but she doesn't even approach this: In my opinion, Salma Hayek would have made a better Nefertiti. Halle Berry is too dark, her features a little too round. I'd like to see how the extras will be cast. If they want realism they should get the cast from Egypt and film it there to support the Egyptian movie industry. The other Neferti movie, produced by David Heyman, will feature Egyptian actors and be filmed entirely in Egypt. Judging by the casting thus far though, I think more casting is gonna be done in Harlem than in Cairo. I hope I'm wrong.

It really does. I dont know why hollywood should be forced to strive for realism. Hollywood strives to make the most money in the box office, not the accurate potrayal of historical events. I'd belittle my intelligence if I bought a ticket at the theatre hoping that hollywood got the racial composition right, because I know thats never been their priority (and it shouldnt anyways, it should be to entertain and make profits). If we really wanted accuracy, then all historical based movies should go further into getting their stuff right and make the actors speak ancient egyptian with English sub-titles or something. I guess if this was a human linguistic-diversity forum, we'd be arguing over that exact point, but anyways...

You know scholars in the past have suggested Nefertiti's lineage might have came from Syria through her mother,Pey. Some have even suggested he was of Minoan descent than Egyptian.
These claims are speclative but I think might have more validity than many people realize.
Either way I agree with Wadaad about the casting of movies. Hollywood does not care much about ethnic preference but about selling tickets. I mean in the past people like John Wayne have played Genghis Khan but he is nothing ethnically like Genghis.

The bust is dated back to Nefertiti's time frame but it lacks the inscription bearing her name which is common in all other Egyptian busts.

If you want to read about X-rays of Egyptian mummies minus Hawass's ridiculous political pandering, go and buy the X-Ray Atlas of Royal Mummies. And that Tut reconstruction has features that are *NOT* 'Caucasian' such as that elongated head shape with the prominent occipital bun.
