Failing to find any of them I would have to join the 'Ndragheta, the Calabrian mafia. It was created in Calabria by Sicilians exiled there and the word 'Ndragheta is of Greek origin according to all the sources I have seen. It could also be "andragetas", a Dorian form meaning "leader of men", something like "capo".

They weren't crazy about women as socializing went and I think they prefered men's company. In Ancient Greek men didn't like socializing with wives, they did however socialize with courtesans. It should also be remembered that in the past, men and women had very little to talk about due to the fact that they had almost completely complementary occupations.

It should also be remembered that in the past, men and women had very little to talk about due to the fact that they had almost completely complementary occupations. It's true; when you think that back in ancient times men were usually soldiers (I think in ancient city states, everyone was a soldier at some point) and their wives would just stay home and care for the household and the children. It must have been rather hard to find common ground to talk about. I think that's not the case with Sparta though, where girls had the same physical education with boys. In any case I wasn't meaning that Ancient Greeks were all gay; they didn't see this man to man love as a gay thing anyway. It's wrong to judge a people who lived 3000 years ago by today's standarts in any case.

It appears that relations between grown men and adolescent males were accepted as normal in parts of ancient Greece. It also appears that this cultural phenomenon had its source in Crete from where it spread to the mainland. To what degree those relationships were sexual is uncertain. No doubt some individuals would take advantage of a situation in order to gratify themselves sexually, even if the basis of the relation was not sexual. My personal opinion is that this issue, as well as homosexuality in general has been blown out of proportion. This includes the Romans and the Ottomans. Apart from situations where the two sexes were completely separate, I believe that the vast majority of males would be interested in females only. Of course in Sparta where boys and girls were taken away from home and lived in a militaristic environment, completely separated from the opposite sex it was inevitable that homosexual love would become an outlet. Similarly in Thebes, in the Sacred Band, which was a body of professional soldiers homosexuality seems to have been the norm. I must stress that this is not proven and there is no conclusive evidence. Other city states had taken measures against such practices. Also there is not even the slightest indication that children were involved in any of this. Adolescents and adults only. One modern equivalent I can think of is British Public Schools such as Eton. It is supposed to be happening there but is it? And to what extent?

It could also be "andragetas", a Dorian form meaning "leader of men", something like "capo". Yes, of course. It is even closer. It is amazing that such an ancient word might have been preserved in Italy when it has not been preserved in Greece.

I wouldn't join any gang. The minute I enter the prison, all the gangs would elect me as their supreme leader.
Then I would take over the prison, followed by the police station, nearby military camp...........power station...........United Nations.........

In some US states, especially where whites are a minority of the prison population, the "Aryan" gangs include anyone who isn't black or Mestizo-latino. They are not so much about Nordic White supremacy as simply keeping some safety in numbers.

I voted for the Aryan Brotherhood as well, if there was no group of Portuguese in that prison...
As for the others, out of question: I would not join criminals (Mafia) or blacks, or mulattos (i.e., what you wrongly call «Latinos»)... unless, of course, the Aryan Brotherhood won't accept me...
