Interesting, I predict the exact opposite: a return to the age of Nationalism. Several Eu countries are close to social implosion (much to the surprise of the idiots who rule us). It takes generations to create patriotism, and that is something that the EU planners never even considered. You can build a castle of cards using spit as glue, but don't expect it to stand for long. The EU will be a threat to US ECONOMICAL interests as soon as most of the world starts using the Euro as an international currency: as soon as that happens (and it is already happening), you will have to start controlling your budget deficit (instead of just printing more billions - thus devalueing your, and everyone else's money). Diplomatically, the EU is a midget because we lack social, ethnic and (believe it or not) cultural unity. In the future, there will be regional economic trade areas, but your theories about feudalism, Marx and Engels are complete nonsense. The only reason why North Korea wasn't invaded is because Bush is an idiot who doesn't know when to attack whom. He should have attacked Iran or Saudi Arabia - definitely not Iraq. As to North Korea, the only guys that give a f*ck about those bastards are the Chinese, the Japs and the South Koreans. Let the Chinese die for the mess they created! What does that have to do with America? Sorry, but the neo-nationalism you speak of does not in any way contradict what I'm saying. With various nations splitting along tribal/ethnic/religious lines, such as has happened in Easten Europe, Iraq, Afghanistan for examples, control by the neo-feudalists will be that much easier. You must not be familiar with neo-liberalism and its third position offshoots in support of reactionary decentralisation on the surface. The world is headed towards a new 1929, world economic failure. Out of the fall of the USAEmpire will come a world much like Europe/environs after the fall of Rome. It will be on a higher level of exploitation, with the entire world being involved this time. As for my "theories" about Marx, Engels, et cetera: Marx predicted a return to feudalism if socialism did not come about in the world. Since there has been no socialism, only various forms of Fabianism posing as socialism, the writing is on the wall regarding the return to feudalism. The regional trade areas of which you speak are only one manifestation of same feudalism. Bush didn't attack NKorea for one reason. That reason was that he was threatened with nuclear annihilation if he even made one step towards NK. Iraq bent over backwards to accomodate the United(States)Nations, look what happened to them. China and India are now trying to bring about the capitalism necessary for development in that part of the world, kudos to them. As for attacking Iran and SArabia, those two have been the most faithful lapdogs of the USA ever. Iran was given weapons by the USA all the time the USA was supposedly helping Iraq. Ever heard of Iran-Contra? The House of Saudi is nothing but a decaying monarchy kept in power by the USA to act as a proxy when they couldn't get away with getting their Zionist lapdog to do their dirty work for them. Iran was certainly good in getting the shitites stirred up in Iraq. Now that former nation is going to be ruled by shitite warlords in srvice to the USA.

You must not be familiar with neo-liberalism and its third position offshoots in support of reactionary decentralisation on the surface. Does this have anything to do with "Neo" from the MatrixTheories espousing imminent immediate disaster have been around and popular since early Christians used it to predict the end of days (which they thought would happen in 104A.D.) We have an inherent need to fear and fret. It's very tantalizing to do so. Bad movies like "the Day After Tommorrow" use it to clean up at the box office. But again, America isn't an Empire. Bush is a dick. But America isnt' an Empire. We advocate.... Free Speach, Freedom of Religion, Free Trade, Access to Capital Markets. ...And all the Madonna videos you can stand to watch. ...How is this Empire? It has nothing to do with Marx or Engels (...although I loved Little House on the Prairie). It has to do with growth, and where there are opportunities for it. For the first time, Capital markets have REALLY started to open up in Asia. ...So it should be no surprise that a lot of investing is going on. They have a far bigger population. There is no "return" to feudalism, ...or any other "ism", unless you somehow correlate Economic Capital to Castles or some sh*t like that. ...Money is, harder to come by in countries that are loosing investments to Asia. That includes the United States, and that includes Europe Big time. Now if the people were smart in these countries, they'd elect officials that would follow policy to increase the money supply. ...But it would appear in Europe, that the only thing the EU is for is political nickering at the U.S. economy and imports. Bush's administration is a loose fart when it comes to the money supply and the working man, but we have the Fed. And my main man Greenspan is kicking it old school, in a Maynard Keynesian kind of way. That's the 411 YA DIG!!!! ...We didn't attack N.Korea, because we were waiting for the EU or the U.N. to save the day. Um... No. It's going to be ruled by Democracy. (Which happens to have a Shi'ite majority.)

People forget that the USA is a collection of States with sometimes nothing much in common. Think of the times it has imploded: civil war, Joseph McCarthy. I think the USA is a threat to itself. As for Europe, national pride is an impediment, but Europeans whether English, Greek or Polish know that they are united when compared to the Americans. The Americans are different and perceived as such by all Europeans. Geez, what IGNORANCE! Another example of a foriegner who watches Jerry Springer and declares himself a USA expert. I bet this dude first hand knowledge of America consists of a backpacking tour. Anyhow, I seriously doubt the EU will EVER rival America. For one, its NOT exactly as if the EU economy is growing. Even in the 90s, the German economy averaged 1% growth annually. I mean, just look at Euro unemployment rates. As for the Euro becoming the worlds reserve currency, thats more political that economic reality. Sure, middle eastern countries may charge for thier oil in euros---doesn't change the underlying realities of the USA vs EU economies. Finally, I suspect the EU as a union could very well rip apart. What if france, as Chirac I believed promised, has a referendum on Turkey in the EU? It will be shot down. The EU may not survive. Not that I care btw Now, China is another matter.................and also another thread

China is another story, and a far more interesting one. ...So's India.
The fact that Europe would "obsess" over the United States shows both their racial solidarity with us, and their general cluelessness regarding the macroeconomic factors that make a growing economy. (Like large educated populations.)
Europe still can't even standardize on one language. They think it's quaint to speak 40 different dialects.
China on the other hand has all those language differences too, but is moving forward boldly to have everyone speak Mandarin.
I wish I could explain to Europeans how dumb we think THEY are. It's kind of like watching someone make fun of you for being a hick, when they don't have a clue themselves. ...You just don't know where to begin to start changing the mindset.
...How about letting them be idiotic enough to flood the EU with Muslim immigrants from Turkey, and then reap the rewards of European women clammoring for an American Husband to get citizenship to a half decent place to live.
What a joke.
