Very distinctive Slav type, Baltic-Dinaric-Uralic.

Definitely a Nordid-Baltid blend. Narrow face and no cheekbones worth mentioning, on the other hand a broad forehead and snubbish nose. Plus thicker lips and marked eyebrows (Pontid). I see nothing Dinarid in Putin.

Does that surname mean anything in Italian? In Spanish language sounds like "little (male) prostitute"

Putin could mean 'small kid'. the suffix -in is a typical diminuitive of the Venetian area
'Puteo' and 'Putea' are local Venetian words for kids (in art, cupids and baby angels are referred as Putti)
more similar to the Spanish meaning is the Italian 'Puttana', vulgar for a female Prostitute

I have read about karelian (one of finnic ethnicities) ancestry of Putin. There is also theory about komi (another finnic ethnicity) ancestry.

He without a doubt has some Finno-Ugric ancestors.

-in is a common ending in Russian names. The Italian connection is doubtful. The -in ending also comes up in Slavic place names: Lublin, and Berlin (name of Slavic origin).

I was told on the pravda forum that Putin was 3/4 ethnic Finn.
Not sure if he actually is though.

Here's a recent photo of Palputin:
