Tallest And Shortest Europeans « Thread Started on Dec 12, 2005, 8:23am »
I know that the tallest Europeans live in the Netherlands. Even the women are tall there. In what country do the shortest ones live? My guess is Portugal or Spain.

In case you don't know, and apparently you don't, the tallest Europeans are inhabitants of the Denaric Highlands, stretching from Montenegro in the south, to either Croatia or Slovenia in the north.
There was a recent study on that subject, and the people from the above mentioned region are even taller than the Dutch.

Instead of "keeping on hearing" look at some scientific data and studies; Denaric Highlanders are taller than the Dutch, and I think there are some tribes in Africa that are taller than either of these two.
So much so for the Dutch being "tallest in the world".

But as an ethnic group or a nation, the Dutch (and perhaps also the Scandinavian groups) are taller than the average of vthe Serb, Bosniak or Croat nation. In some parts of Montenegro, though, there is a very tall local average.

I've seen giants montenegrin and serbs. trust me, I could pass as short for certain of them while im over 185cm myself!! Also there is a tendency to gigantism, especially in western and south-western bosnia (as i've observed). About other european nations, i won't talk, because i don't know much, but I believe Danish are tall too?

You must be talking about this one.

And that area produces the most Basketball players in Europe.
